We were delighted with Miracle of Medinah’s comeback run at Ascot yesterday evening under another competent ride from Jason Watson; the winner is self evidently a Stakes horse and the time of the race was lightening quick; it was an altogether better than a satisfactory performance and the Season stretches ahead with the prospect of Miracle of Medinah being competitive in some highend Handicaps.
We hope to carry our good form forward to Nottingham this evening where Misu Pete seeks to win one of the BHA’s Racing Excellence Apprentice races under another of Kingsclere’s Apprentices, William Carver; William would be a fair bit less experienced than Jason Watson but the race is framed to provide a platform for equally inexperienced riders and we are looking to his Kingsclere background and his five pound claim to give us an edge in the saddle this evening. Misu Pete, now two wins from five starts on turf, is up another three pounds for winning at Yarmouth last week under SDS last week so he has a bit more to do and he is now running off what is close to a career high mark; but still below that off which he was so desperately unlucky at Chelmsford in April 2016. He goes to Nottingham to run well and should be really competitive, the final outcome depending to a fair degree on how the race is actually run;often a key in Apprentice and Amateur races.
You would be very welcome to see Misu Pete, together with the four other Club horse at our MUR Club (9 winners and 25 places over 16 months before Misu Pete runs this evening!!) Open Morning at Rowdown tomorrow; just email Mark at the address at the top of the page if you would like to come.
