We have sorted Monday out now. Born To Please will run in the 6:00 at Windsor and Shamonix will run in the 5:15 at Wolverhampton. Unfortunately Misu Pete was a little bit lame this morning; I’m sure it’s nothing serious but we couldn’t run him.
Born To Please runs for the first time over a mile and three furlongs. Darragh Keenan will ride her and the key will be to settle her. Windsor can be a difficult track to navigate if your horse is pulling too hard. The ground may be a bit quick for her but Windsor has been watered well the last couple of times I’ve been there; hopefully it will be again.
We decided to go back to Wolverhampton with Shamonix because it’s where she won and it’s a safe surface she can let herself down on. It’s an Amateur race so Ellie Mackenzie will ride her. She is drawn three which is very good. In Amateur races anything can happen so we’ll keep our fingers crossed!
It turns out Bird For Life got quite a nasty cut on her leg during the race at Kempton. It has blown up a bit though I must say she is being very brave about it. She doesn’t seem bothered at all when we dress it. Another horse must have struck into her at some point. She deserves all the more credit for running so well. It shouldn’t hold her up much; she will be back exercising next week.
