Misu Pete ran a fair race last night but Kempton seems an impossible place to make the running. We will give him a little break and we might start dropping him in for a while when he comes back in December. He still might put up a bit more prize money before the end of the year.
There is a race coming up for Shamonix at Chelmsford next Tuesday evening. It’s a mile a five furlongs which is just short of when she ran there the last time. It could be the perfect trip; fingers crossed she gets in. She’s been pretty sore after her races and in the past we’ve had to keep her going out every day to try and keep her fit but this time we have let her recover in her box. This morning was her first day out since her last run and she is moving so much better. Riding her will just make her sore again so she is going on the salt water treadmill instead. There is a video attached for those of you that are interested. Horses have to work quite hard on it but it’s a lot kinder on their joints. She will have retained most of her fitness from her last race so we won’t ride her at all leading up to the race. If she goes there feeling good she should run a big race.
I’m still looking for a race for Born To Please over hurdles. The Newbury race we were considering is run tomorrow and it’s such a strong race it wouldn’t be fair on the filly; there are five winners from top yards in the race.
