We didn't improve on our 20 wins for the Season (one win for every one and a half boxes at Rowdown, not so shakey but we can always do better!) at Kempton yesterday evening but both guys ran well and were not beaten too far, Ensign Ewart in particular did well to be a running on fourth from the poor draw; he should drop another pound or two and is clearly capable of winning off these sorts of marks in the right grade and we might just take him up a little in trip.
Tin Fandango was a non runner with a scope that was not quite 100%; and we are looking forward to running Dreamboat Annie at Chelmsford tomorrow evening.
You might already know that the BHA Official Handicapper adjusts his ratings for both Flat and Jump horses at 1000 every Tuesday morning; these adjustments take account of horses who have run from the Sunday ten days previous to the immediately preceeding Saturday evening. The reason I am articulating this is that he updated Point in Time yesterday morning following her spiffing performance at Kempton last Friday; she went up only three pounds to 74 which is good news, firstly, because the hike could have been worse, and secondly it leaves open the possibility of running again in the grade with an upper range of 75; on what she achieved last Friday you might be able to take the vu that she would be a hard filly to beat in another of these races off this mark.
