Dreamboat Annie at Chelmsford
Firstly we were delighted to see Ellie Mackenzie ride her first winner since turning professional, riding a well judged race on the Heather Main trained Mostawaa yesterday evening to win Newcastle's Class Four Auction Maiden decisively by three lengths. Mostawaa was bred by Shadwell and Heather did really well to pick up the gelding, unraced, for only £7k from Doncaster HIT in the middle of September and he looks a really decent buy.
This evening we take Dreamboat Annie to Chelmsford for the First Division of their six furlong Handicap; the positives are that she is well drawn in four and we have been able to get Jason Watson; and she has been eased a brace of pounds to 63 and runs in a Class Six iteration for the first time since July. She has run quite a bit beneath her best in her last two runs and will have to reverse that and get back to the level she showed in Essex at the end of September (when she was third) to win this evening; and not to feel the effects of her 13th run since the beginning of May. But she goes back to Essex to run well and the video here her just getting touched off at Leicester at the beginning of September in what was almost certainly her career best performance; a repetition will see her involved.
