We are having a bit of a drama; as of today all racing has been suspended due to an outbreak of equine flu. It’s quite a serious thing with horses and needs to be controlled. All horses are vaccinated in this country but is could well be that the horses affected are vaccinated horses. Tests are being done and race courses are being “deep cleaned” as they call it. Hopefully there are only isolated cases and racing will resume within a few days but these outbreaks have been known to stop racing for quite a while.
More bad news is Misu Pete might have picked up an injury in his last race. He is quite sore down one of his front tendons. There was some swelling which had reduced in the last few days so it could be that he knocked it and he will be fine, but it could also be a strain which is quite serious. We will continue to monitor him and let you know how he is.
We will also keep you updated on the flu story. Hopefully it won’t affect Born To Please at Huntingdon next week.
