MUR Club Update
Born To Please seems very well at home. I don’t see why we shouldn’t go to Huntingdon on Wednesday. The track is getting a few showers but the wind will be drying the ground. At the moment it’s just a touch softer than it was for her last run which would be perfect. We declare on Tuesday so I will let you know the finer details then, but the racer is at 3:05.
Misu Pete has come out of his last race very well. He has the option of going back to Wolverhampton on the 25th March for a race he should run very well in. However a more exciting option is a 10 furlong Apprentice race at Doncaster on Lincoln day (Saturday 30th March). It’s no guarantee he will get in because he’s a bit down in the weights. It will probably be a hot race and the trip will stretch him but he will love the track; it’s very similar to Newbury. He will carry a low weight and though the ground isn’t too much of an issue for him, I think he might just favour it on the softer side. The only issue I have about the race is the terrible prize money on offer. It’s an ARC track which owns all the tracks we are currently boycotting. It’s one thing to cut prizemoney for the lowest grade racing at the Lingfield and Wolverhampton evening meetings, but I’m not sure what the excuse is for a 75 handicap on a Saturday being put on for £5,000. The Lincoln is worth £100,000! Anyway, it’s a shame but it will still be nice to be there.
