MUR Club Update
I was happy enough with Bird To Love at Kempton. They go a pretty relentless gallop around Kempton and she showed a bit of inexperience. If you remember it took Bird For Life several goes to get the hang of it. She will improve for the run; I’d like to get her back on the grass a few times while we still can because she has coped better on it so far. Also it’s looking very much like she needs further so we will look at 14 furlongs or two miles next. I can see both Birds competing against each other later in the year.
I can quite remember what I last wrote but Born To Please runs in the 4:55 at Haydock tomorrow. It’s an amateur race for Ciaran over just short of a mile and a half. There are only 8 runners so she shouldn’t get crowded and there is rain expected, so the ground should be suitable. It’s high enough class contest but she has run well against better horses before; Ciaran just has to go out and enjoy himself, and hope for the best.
Miracle Of Medinah will run in the 4:40 at Ascot on Friday. The race looks made for him; off last years’ Ascot form he should win the race. He hasn’t been quite as good in his last couple of runs but hopefully being back at Ascot will make a difference. If the ground is good to firm like they say it will be then he will have an even better chance. Ellie will ride him again; he’s got a big weight so her 7lb allowance will be a big help.
