by Sixties Icon ex Phoebe Woodstock ( Grand Lodge )
Her sire, Sixties Icon (by Galileo), was the champion middle distance 3yo of Europe in 2006 winning at Group One level, including the St Leger. He has a 45% strike rate with his 2yo’s, including Chillworth Icon, Epsom Icon etc.
Her dam Phoebe Woodstock was a tough racehorse herself, rated in the 70’s and all four of her progeny have won or been placed. All About the Pace is a good looking filly with a solid pedigree, and will be great fun to be involved with during her racing career; she is also plus ten qualified (and is thus eligible for the £10,000 bonus).
As would you would expect from her pedigree Mark believes that she will progressively improve as she goes up in trip; after two runs, over six at Newbury and over seven at Wolverhampton, she showed she had benefited from the experience by running a much improved race over seven at Wolverhampton at the end of August, travelling nicely through the race and going on throughout the final furlong to finish third. If you follow this link and click on the 'Watch Reply' tab at the top right of the page you can see how well she ran. She found the Brighton switchback not entirely to her liking when running a slightly lesser race in a seven furlong Maiden Auction race on the Sussex Downs in early October.
After a break over the Winter she returned to the track at the end of April, running an excellent race back at Wolverhampton to finish third in a competitive ten furlong Handicap; she would not want the ground too firm and she should have a nice future in similar events as the Spring turns to Summer.
