By one of the leading two year olds of 2007 and the subsequent impressive Craven Stakes winner, Elusive Pimpernel, out a winning dam over seven furlongs on soft ground, from one of the best Aga Khan family's, that includes the Irish Oaks and Prix Vermelle winner, Shawanda, Shamonix’s breeding is strong and we are pleased to have her in the yard.

She is a big, impressive individual with excellent confirmation and has a great attitude to her work. She showed promise at home as a two year old but her size and immaturity led to her being turned away during the Autumn of 2016 to strengthen and mature; she remained quite an immature filly throughout her three year old year and was again given time to mature and strengthen over the Winter of 2017 and 2018.

Back on the track in a Kempton Handicap over a Mile in February 2018 she showed the benefit of 'time' by running her best race to be beaten just over four lengths running on steadily all the way up the straight; slightly held up with a minor foot problem and one run over twelve furlongs where she self evidently didn't stay saw her finally fullfiling her potential in an extended mile handicap at Wolverhampton at the end of April, getting nicely on top in the last 50 yards; if you follow this link you can see a video of her performance.
