Flying Macs at Wolverhampton
Miss Ayala ran a race difficult to read at Wolverhampton yesterday evening; after leading she got outpaced as they reached the end of the back before rallying into the straight; she was just beginning to weaken when she quite significantly ran out of room on the rail; difficult to say how close she would have got but quite a bit; it was actually a better run than the bare form suggests and she still had a chance over one out; we will think carefully about the right trip going forward and she is capable of winning off her current mark.
Flying Macs goes to Wolverhampton for their
extended eight furlong Handicap; we could have been drawn closer to
the rail for sure (the bend comes up real quick over a mile at DP); she
has been eased a further two pounds and we have put pieces on for the
ft. These races are nearly always tightly handicapped but off this mark
we have the joint best theoretical chance at the weights and up to
seven pounds in hand with some; and on this basis she seems
significantly overpriced at 14s or bigger; the constraint is whether
she is as effective over eight and a half as she is over seven but we
think she should be nicely competitive this evening; and at 14s or
bigger well wroth a small ew dabble down to fourth on the exhanges.
No runners tomorrow; we are just thinking about taking Seeking Charles to Lingfield for his rules debut on Thursday.
There is just a possibility that Sunday
morning's Blog had the wrong Monks Mead video, the one where he won at
Lingfield rather than finishing second on Saturday; the right one, last Saturday, is defo here.
