Two Runners at Wolverhampton
Arlecchino's Rex goes to Wolverhampton for their extended nine furlong Handicap under David (7.30); Seachingtheblues goes up in trip to an extended eight furlongs in the last race on the same card (9.00); both have a middling but respectable draw in four and six respectably and, particularly for Searchingtheblues, the bend comes up real quick over these trips.
Arlecchino's Rex has run four really
consistent races and has krept up to 51, five pounds above the mark he
won off on the 3rd of March, as a result; this evening's race is
probably a touch stronger than all of the last four and he seems to have
around as much as six pounds to find with the Loughnane horse; so he
needs to be at his recent best to win this evening; but he is in such
good form that he seems sure to run well and has a clear ew chance;
although not particularly generously priced at around sixes; there has
been some money for him overnight.
Searchingtheblues is unchanged off 65; and
might be on the cusp of winning for the ft since she was a two year
old; she does have to get home over the eighth and a half furlong but
we are delighted to have Robert; she has the best theoretical chance in
the race and is significantly overpriced at 16s, especially down to
third on the Exchanges; it would be true to say that, overall, her form
has a slightly inconsistent feel to it but it was an excellent performance the last time on
the Southwell tapeta and a repetition of that run will see her go very
close this evening with just the slight imponderable about the trip.
No runners tomorrow; we are just thinking about Monks Mead over ten furlongs at Bath on Wednesday.
